How much hamster safe hay do I get?

100g of Hay for your hamster :)

There is quite a lot of hay in 100g because it is so light. 100g is enough to create a decent sized forage area or to stuff quite a few toys. It's just enough hay for you and your hamster to try out and see if it's right for you before buying a larger amount.

How can I use hay with my hamster?

It can be used as forage or substrate, it is not suitable to be used as a main bedding because it doesn't support tunnels that well.

It's fresh and sweet smelling and it's great for foraging in, you can lay this down in an area of your cage and watch your hamster have hours of fun foraging for any food you sprinkle over it. 

You can also use it for stuffing toys. Flamey has a bag made out of seagrass and a hollow ball, I fill them both with hay and sprinkle seeds throughout and it bulks out the toy but gives him a reason to keep going back and trying to destroy it! You can also do the same with a cardboard tube, stuff it with hay and sprinkle seeds throughout. It also mixes well with other substrates like coco chips.

Is they hay hamster safe?

The hay has been bagged and then frozen at -20°c for 48+ hours, so you can use it straight out of the bag with confidence, no need for freezing before use.
