This soft aspen is made 100% from aspen wood and is hamster safe. It's great for promoting digging and foraging.

How much hamster safe aspen will I get?

There's 200g here which is plenty to forage in and enough to fill two or three decent substrate bowls if using in that way. 

Is the aspen hamster safe?

The aspen has been bagged and then frozen at -20°c for 48+ hours, so you can use it straight out of the bag with confidence, no need for freezing before use.

Can I use aspen as my hamster's main substrate?

Some hamster owners use this as a main substrate, but others say it's not always a great idea because it doesn't hold tunnels as well as paper. Either way, it's just a nice substrate to introduce different textures to your cage.
