Tropical Treats Hamster Snack Mix

This tropical treat mix is a great mini treat mix for your hamster. It contains flaked coconut and freeze dried mango. It weighs around 50g. Because the coconut and mango pieces are relatively large it's an excellent mix for hand feeding.

The tropical treat mix contains:

• Freeze dried mango
• Dried coconut flakes

Is the Tropical Treat Mix Safe for Hamsters?

The mango and coconut in this mix have not been through a freezing process because they have been through freezing and drying processes that will have removed any of the usual bacteria or organisms that we aim to remove with freezing and baking processes. The mix is safe for human and hamster consumption.

How to use the Tropical Treat Mix

Both the mango and coconut are larger pieces so it makes an excellent treat mix for hand feeding since you can pull out a few flakes of coconut or chunks of mango at a time.

Why was the Tropical Treat Mix Created?

I created this mix because mango is one of Flamey's favourite fruits, but I don't like it! Having it dried means that I can feed it to Flamey a bit at a time making sure that he is moderated, but it lasts for such a long time that I don't have to worry about it going off. Flamey also likes coconut and I thought mango and coconut would make a lovely tropical mix.

Please note, when exposed to air for any length of time the mango will begin to go soft. This is the same with most dried foods. This is fine for your hamster, it's just because the dried mango is absorbing natural moisture from the environment.
