50g of dandelion roots for your hamster. These dandelion roots have already been frozen at -20°c for 48+ hours so you can use them straight out of the bag.
Why give my hamster dandelion roots?
Dandelion roots are high in fibre and they're great for promoting dental health because they require a bit of gnawing to get through. Hamsters tend to love having a root on the go, and they usually eat it over a few days.
How many dandelion roots do I get?
You get 50g of dandelion roots. This would usually last Flamey and I a few months as you would generally just want one or two on the go and you'd want that one or two to be totally gone before giving another.
How can I use dandelion roots with my hamster?
The dandelion roots are designed to be gnawed on, so you can put one in your hamster's usual forage area and let them have at it over a couple of days. See how your hamster reacts to it. There's a good reason that there are no pictures of Flamey in this listing and that's because he refused to eat dandelion roots unless he was sat somewhere 'secret' with them! If I gave him a dandelion root rather than putting it in his forage area, he'd carry it in his mouth up to his forage area where he had a little hide he'd sit in to eat the root. Many a time I'd hear an almighty scraping noise because he was in his hide having a go at his dandelion root! Your hamster may be less secretive, in which case the dandelion roots may be a great bonding tool!
