What are the benefits of using this slate with hamsters?

Will this slate mean I don't have to take my hamster to the vet to get their claws trimmed?
For most people this is the case. I have never had to have Flamey's claws trimmed at a vet and many of my customers have told me that they were on the verge of a vet visit before they got the slate.
How do the slates keep my hamster's nails short?
These slates are flat and square so they are easy to lay down in your hamster's usual walkways. I tend to put them under Flamey's water and by his wheel because then he walks over them often. This has kept his nails at a great length.
What size will my hamster's slate be?
Because they are natural slate the shape and size varies. The pieces I have at the moment are about 14cm long and 10cm wide. If you need your stone to be a specific shape or size send me a message and I will do what I can to help.

I already had what I thought was "natural slate" in my hamster enclosures. That is, until I saw Kat's video about treated slate. Having now purchased a couple of slates from HH, there's no doubt that the ones I bought elsewhere were treated. I got three slates (1 large, 2 small) and they are a great size for the smaller spaces in front of the sand bath, wheel and water stand. Arrived very quickly and very well packaged. I am so happy with them and my hamster loves them too!

Almost as if Kat knew where I was putting it, as it fit in so perfectly. I noticed Tonks back claws needed a trim. So added in another 2 bits of slate to his collection

Brought this product to finish off my Hammys very large, very cared for enclosure. I popped them in walk ways in which she uses regularly and within a week I could feel the difference in her little nails. Also received a very helpful guide and a taster food (which my little Lattè loves!) Will most definitely order again. Thank you xx

My little ham is a wriggler and does not comply with getting her nails clipped easily. We got this stone instead to help keep them short and it is working already. Also looks nice in her enclosure.
