Hamster Safe Pea Flakes

50g of hamster safe pea flakes as a great starter pack, or you can get a 200g bag if you want them to last you longer. These flakes have already been frozen at -20°c for 48+ hours so you can use them straight out of the bag.

Why give my hamster pea flakes?

Pea flakes are high in fibre and protein. Hamsters tend to really enjoy them. They are great for promoting bonding and because they're quite tough they help to wear down the teeth and promote great dental health. They're also a good source of amino acids.

How many pea flakes do I get?

You get 50g of hamster safe pea flakes. This would usually last Flamey and I a couple of months. 

How can I use pea flakes with my hamster?

I would recommend giving your hamster just the occasional pea flake, but that does make me a hypocrite since as you can see from the pictures, I used to let Flamey sit in a pile of them and eat as many as he wanted. However, after a binge, I used to let him go a few days without them. They are a treat, so you can use them as you would a treat. You can give them to your hamster one at a time to aid with bonding, you can put them into some hay, beech chips or aspen to promote foraging, or you can put them into toys and boredom breakers.
