Graveyard Dirt - Halloween Forage Fun

Turn your hamster’s dig box into a tiny haunted graveyard with this combination of hamster-safe soil and a separately packed roots-and-seeds topper.

The soil gives your hamster a different texture to dig, scratch and forage through, while the edible topper adds interesting pieces for them to search for beneath the surface.

Each set contains:

• 1 litre of Hamster Helper soil
• Approximately 45g of Graveyard Dirt Topper

The soil and topper arrive in separate bags, allowing you to control how much food is added and save the remaining topper for future use.

What’s in the Graveyard Dirt Topper?

The edible topper contains:

• Burdock root
• Chicory root
• Safflower seeds

The roots and seeds have been pre-frozen at -20°C for at least 48 hours and can be used straight from the pouch.

How to Use Graveyard Dirt

Place the soil in a suitable container inside your hamster’s enclosure to create a digging and foraging area.

Sprinkle a small amount of the Graveyard Dirt Topper across the surface, or lightly hide some pieces beneath the soil for your hamster to discover. You don’t need to use the whole pouch at once.

The topper can also be used independently as a forage mix or added to other boredom breakers.

Important Information About Soil and Food

Food can develop mould when it remains in damp soil, so use the topper sparingly and check the area regularly. Remove any uneaten pieces if they become damp, begin to spoil or show any sign of mould.

The topper has been tested for use with the Hamster Helper soil supplied in this set. You’re welcome to reuse it with another hamster-safe soil, but soils can differ in composition and moisture levels, so I can’t guarantee how the ingredients will behave in other products. Monitor any alternative soil carefully and remove the food immediately if mould appears.

Is Graveyard Dirt Suitable for Hamsters?

Graveyard Dirt is suitable for Syrian, dwarf, Chinese and Roborovski hamsters.

The topper is a complementary treat and should be offered alongside your hamster’s usual balanced diet.

Store the unused soil and topper separately in a cool, dry place.
