Forest and flower forage with crunchy topper

This forest and flower forage mix has been refined over months.

How much forage do I get?

There is a good amount of forage here - 100g and the forage is weighed out before dandelion roots and peanuts are added. The forage comes with a crunchy topper which weighs around 40g which you can sprinkle on top of the forage for your hamster to nibble on. It's a delightful multi-sensory experience for your hamster. It smells good, tastes good and according to Flamey, it's fun to forage in.

The forage comes in a box as pictured, and is wrapped in tissue paper for integrity. The box dimensions are: 25cm x 20cm x 7cm

What's in this hamster safe forage?

It's taken a long time to develop this forage. The ingredients and topper have been carefully selected to create the feel of a British orchard. I wanted to give Flamey a forage area with a natural forest floor feel and this is the combination we finally settled on.

I've kept the topper separate so it's easy to control how much your hamster has access to.

Can I have forage without bugs?

I know not every hamster owner likes to include bugs in their hamster's diet, so you can choose to have 40g of the mix without bugs if you prefer.

Is this forage hamster safe?

Yes! This forage was specially designed for my own hamster using ingredients that I researched to ensure were hamster safe. 

Every single part of the forage and topper has been frozen at -20°c for 48+ hours, so you can use the forage straight out of the box with confidence, no need to freeze before using.

How do I use forage with my hamster?

You can use forage in a few different ways. Some hamster owners like to leave it in the box and let the hamster forage during out of cage time. Some put it in a small bowl and keep it topped up, others put it directly into the cage. Simply sprinkle the topper on (or any other dried food) and your hamster will enjoy foraging around in the new scents and textures.

Is the forage safe for my hamster to eat?

The forage is safe for your hamster to nibble on. I find that most hamsters don't tend to eat the forage, but they do like a nibble!
