Black and White Sesame Seed Mix

Tiny seeds make brilliant foraging treats because your hamster has to search a little more carefully to find them. This simple mix combines black and white sesame seeds, creating plenty of visual contrast while offering the naturally nutty flavour hamsters love.

How can I use the Sesame Seed Mix?

Sprinkle a small pinch around the enclosure, add it to a dig box or hide it among forage and safe substrates.

Sesame seeds can also be used in homemade boredom breakers, stuck to cardboard using hamster-safe flour glue, or offered by hand for bonding.

How much should I feed my hamster?

Sesame seeds are naturally high in fat, so this mix is best used sparingly as a treat or enrichment rather than fed by the spoonful.

A small pinch at a time is plenty.

Are sesame seeds hamster safe?

Yes! Hamsters are naturally very good at handling tiny foods and regularly eat seeds that are a similar size to sesame seeds or even smaller, including flax and canary seed.

As with any seed, they should be offered in sensible quantities as part of a varied diet.

Our sesame seeds are also frozen at -20°C for at least 48 hours before packing, so they’re ready to use straight from the pouch.
